At its Spense copper mine in Chile, the world's biggest mining company had agreed to raise employee wages in order to end a strike that had been going on for about six weeks.
A four precent pay increase, workers are to receive over a forty one month contract and via a one time bonus of about seven million pesos, under the very agreement which was met.
This particular piece of information was according to the BHP press office that is stationed over in Santiago, Chile, sent in a statement via email.
