A probe is under way into a devastating fire which destroyed part of the historic port of Valparaiso, leaving at least three dead and six missing.

Chile On Alert for La Nina

Meterorologists in the U.S. predict an increase of hurricanes for the coming year and they are blaming La Nina which produces a cooling effect on the water surface in the Pacific Ocean. This will alter weather patterns as far as Africa. It also means less rain and more heat in the South which is already drought stricken. This has Chile on alert.
