Private pension funds in Chile has about $21.2 billion investment overseas in December which have already plummeted to 38 percent from a year early cause of asset value declines. Their funds on foreign holdings accounts for 29 percent of their total assets. A report on the matter are posted on the company's website by its pension regulators. Michelle Bachelet's visit to Cuba last month was the first Presidential visit of a Chilean President to the Central American nation since 1972. This may well prove to be a sign of strengthening relationships between the two countries.The Chilean President visited Cuba for the XVIII International Book Fair, for which Chile is this year's guest of honor. Among the South American nations, Chile and Cuba are not the best of friends, as Chile is seen as more pro-US than pro-South America.
