Apologizing to the poor especially for the poor transport system, Chile's President, Michelle Bachelet, made further drastic changes to her year-old government by sacking four ministers. The second such move in less than a year.

Ancient herbal remedies rediscovered in Chile

Chile trade delegation visits Australia

Journalist; Chile too humble about its successes

According to a journalist, Chile successes in leading its population out of poverty deserve to be better publicized. It has cut poverty in half over the past 17 years, and is the run-away leader when it comes to life expectancy and other social indicators.

Bachelet: we will make decisions together with the people.

Announcing that "as of today, we begin a process aimed at making decisions....with the people....who are so far away from the nation's capital," Chilean President Michelle Bachelet enacted a law to create an administrative region in the north of Chile. She also announced an investment plan to improve infrastructure in the area.
