President-elect Sebastian Piņera's plan to sell parts of Codelco which is Chile's national copper company is criticized by political figures from the Concentracion coalition, according to a report on Santiago Times.
Ricardo Nunez of Chile's socialist party believes that Codelco needs to continue being an entirely public company. Santiago Gonzalez of the Mining Ministry stressed that the introduction of private enterprise would not strengthen the public mining firm.
